Future. Skills. Ready.
Specialist remote contractor opportunity for an experienced digital designer with strong platform awareness, creative thinking, and practical implementation skills across social, web, and digital brand systems.
We’re looking for a highly skilled independent digital designer to collaborate with the BlueMagnet team across a range of client projects. This role is suited to designers who are comfortable working in performance-driven, digital-first environments, where design must support strategy, usability, and measurable outcomes.
You’ll be working across social media design, landing pages, email layouts, digital brand assets, and front-end web builds, collaborating closely with SEO, marketing, and development specialists to ensure design outputs align with platform requirements and campaign objectives.
This is a remote, contract-based role, with flexible engagement depending on project needs.
Key Responsibilities
Digital & Social Design (Required)
- Design high-quality digital assets for social media platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and paid media campaigns.
- Create static and light-motion social content such as posts, carousels, banners, thumbnails, and basic video layouts.
- Ensure all assets meet platform-specific specifications, ratios, safe zones, and file requirements.
- Design visual systems that scale across campaigns while maintaining brand consistency.
Web, Landing Page & Email Design
- Design layouts for websites, landing pages, and campaign-specific microsites with a strong focus on usability and clarity.
- Build or assist with front-end implementation using WordPress page builders such as Divi or Elementor.
- Design responsive email templates for marketing campaigns, newsletters, and automated workflows.
- Work within existing brand guidelines or assist in evolving digital brand systems where required.
Design for Performance & Collaboration
- Translate strategy, briefs, and data-driven insights into effective visual concepts.
- Collaborate with SEO, paid media, and marketing teams to ensure designs support conversion goals and content performance.
- Prepare clean design handovers for developers where required, with attention to responsiveness and scalability.
- Apply best practices for digital accessibility, hierarchy, and user-focused design.
Asset Management & Iteration
- Maintain organised design files and version control across projects.
- Adapt and refine designs based on performance feedback, testing insights, or platform changes.
- Support ongoing optimisation through design updates aligned with campaign results.
Experience & Skills Required
- 3+ years’ professional experience in digital or graphic design.
- Experience with mobile-first and responsive design adaptions.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating social, web, and digital brand design work.
- Proficiency with Canva (required) and at least one professional design tool (Adobe Suite or Figma).
- Solid understanding of platform-specific design requirements across social, web, and email.
- Experience working in WordPress environments, particularly with page builders.
- Ability to manage multiple deliverables independently in a remote setting.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret briefs accurately.
Bonus Skills (Beneficial)
- Experience with light motion design or short-form video layouts.
- Familiarity with conversion-focused design principles for landing pages.
- Experience collaborating with SEO or performance marketing teams.
- Understanding of responsive design, UX fundamentals, and accessibility best practices.
- Experience with AI-assisted design workflows and tools.
Ideal Candidate
You are a digital-first designer who understands that good design is not just visual – it must work across platforms, support strategy, and deliver results. You’re comfortable moving between creative concepting and practical execution, whether that’s designing a social campaign, building a landing page layout, or refining assets based on performance feedback.
You take ownership of your work, communicate clearly, and thrive in a collaborative, specialist-led environment.
